    Default Brazilian Judo?

I remember reading in a magazine once about Brazilian Judo...Is that a cheap marketing trick...or somebody trying to jump on the Gracie thing? From my understanding there is only one Judo and thats Kodokan Judo...Please correct me if I'm wrong...

There is only Kodokan Judo. But often people are referring to someone like George Mehdi - a Brazilian Judo teacher of many many years. Many of the Gracie's have trained with him.

There has been judo in Brazil for about as long as there has been judo in the United States. Therefore, the author might have been talking about judo in Brazil, and rather than saying "judo in Brazil," preferred to say, "Brazilian judo."
