I live in Ontario, California and there are no ninjutsu dojos to speak of and i've looked almost everywhere in L.A., San Bernadino, and orange county. Does anyone know of any here?
What do you guys think of Ashida Kim?

I know I'm not a ninjutsu forum regular, but I suggest you check over in the bad budo section for the general feeling on Ashida Kim. Just flip through the threads, it shouldn't be hard to find a thread with Ashida Kim in the subject.

Yeah I'd stay away from Kim.
There are a few schools in that area from my memory.
Barry Sizemore I think is there. There are some others.

I have a dojo in Torrance California. You might think it is far but, I have students from Ontario, maybe you could car pool.
Also if you still think it is too far.

When I first started training I traveled 4 hours round trip for a 2-hour class
I traveled 6,000 mile to live and train in Japan.(originally from Michigan)and training was usually 1 hour on the train.
I now yearly travel 3,000 mile to train in Japan.
Not so far.

I think this is such an important point that many folks don't consider these days.
First there was Japan. Then there were the events that Mr. Hayes held. Then other people started going directly to Japan. Now there are dojos or training groups in most states within at least 2 hours of most cities...if not directly in the city.
If you have a _good_ dojo within an hour or two of you consider yourself very lucky. For the most part due to the decisions of who I prefer to train with I still have to jump in a plane to train with the folks I consider my instructors.
David has a very nice dojo and has a very good heart. He host's a handfull of seminars throughout the year (including Tim Bathurst).
If Torrance is out of the way, I am in West L.A./ Santa Monica area. Feel free to stop by and check out our group.
I'm not sure, but I believe Tim Brown is in N. Hollywood as well. If any one can help him out with this one, that would be great.
If these dojo's interest you, I think some good advice would be to visit them and see what teacher you click with.
Good Luck!
