    Default The Magic of Go

    Howdy,

I've mentioned the weekly Go column by Rob Van Zeist on the online Yomiuri Shinbun site in the past.

Just an update ... a series of articles has been started specifically geared toward novice go players. It starts with installment #220. Currently, the newest installment is #225 in the Magic of Go series.

Should you in the least be interested in Go, now is your chance to learn about it from square 1.

    Enjoy!

    Howdy,

This week's column is an excellent introduction to the opening for beginners. I highly recommend reading it. It treats the subject of where to start placing stones on the board. This is something that in practice is very confusing to novices due to the seemingly endless possibilities. Typically, one would need to read a whole chapter in a book to get a handle on these topics, but the article summarizes the topic nicely.

Installment 234: "Following a pattern set by others is easy, but ... "

    Enjoy!
