Charles,
you need to see the two kae waza for MJER uke nagashi, also have a read of Iwata sensei's book on the oku iai standing version, where he combines three of his teachers understanding of the waza. This one is particularly interesting, however having watched three of his 7th/8th dan students attempting it and giving up after five minutes shaking their heads, I would leave it for a while... Everyone there knew what he wanted and was doing, but doing it yourself? errm come back later to that one thanks very much..
The two kae waza are a little simpler, one coming nearly directly forward but staying very low with the sword laying down your back, done by Oe sensei in his early years, and a late version that stops the cut at the neck and then drops straight into the 'blade over the knee' posture. That seems to lack zanshin to me but perhaps I am rushing it...

Why are you reading this instead of being out training? No excuses accepted...

[QUOTE=Grey Wolf]Tristan,
Since I am from the Netherlands,I don't know what swordschools there are in your area[are there many in the US?]
I practice Katori Shinto Ryu[as well as Jodo and Iaido]which is one of the great old schools that has combat deep in its soul.
But you mention live blades,these are only used in Iaijutsu practice,never in kenjutsu!!
