Autumn Lightning. Probably the one book that made me want to seek out training with the sword, or made me believe that gaijin training with a sword was possible.

My girlfriend is reading it right now. I will have to go and re-read it and Persimmon Wind too (not to mention the other few dozen MA books I have bought in the past).

How many Dave Lowry threads do we need going at one time?

I did like the other thread's "Ditka vs. Lowry" nonsense. Secretly, I believe that an army of Dave Lowrys, armed with katana, would vanquish an army of mini-Ditkas, regardless of what those "Bearsssss" fans on SNL think.
P.S. Currently, I'm enjoying reading "Traditions." Good compilation of Mr. Lowry's essays.

I have, or have read, most of Dave Lowry's books. They are all well worth the time to read and reread. I would say that Mr. Lowry is about my favorite MA writer in terms of general subjects. [But Ellis Amdur is coming up fast...he just needs to increase his output.]

May I suggest the sequel, Persimmon Wind, as well.Originally posted by Shimura

Also Sword and Brush.
There are others, but these are my three favorites so far.
