    Default The Rugby World Cup

    Its coming........

Rugby (to you over the pond ) is like american football but played without padding, and played a lot harder, and with less "stopages in play"

The Japanese have a team in the competition, and the Canadians, and even the Americans.......

    The Favorites are:
    Australia
    New Zealand
    England
    France

    Scotland crushes...er...I mean...plays Japan on the 12th.

Fox Sports World is airing a ton of it. Otherwise, us yanks are S.O.L.

*chuckle* When I started playing Rugby, my Mom asked my Dad and I what it was like. As my Father put it..."American Football is controlled chaos...and well....Rugby isn't."

    even the Americans.......
We're not that bad Steve...ok so we are...we are better than well, maybe Romania...

I want to see S.A., N.Z., Scotland, Ireland, games for sure...looks like Ill have to go into Washington D.C., to watch any matches.

Does anyone know if O'driscoll is playing for Ireland? I think his first name is Ryan, could be wrong though. He is one of the best backs in the game...(that I know of)

Jon, it's 'Brian' O'Driscoll. I guess it wasn't coming across too clearly on that crystal set you use to pickup the transmissions in the early hours.

Ireland are my second team, after England. When we were younger I played in the same team as Kevin Maggs, one of Ireland's centres, and I'm part Irish too (isn't everyone ? )

England should win the tournament, but Ireland show that 'spirit' makes up a lot of the sport and can overcome many supposed disadvantages.

One of the drawbacks of the RWC are the songs that are being released. There's some good old stirring stuff like 'Swing low' and Jerusalem, but what the heck is 'oompah, oompah, stick it up yer jumpah' ?.

    yee ha!

This time we're bound to win it! I was born in England, so obviously support them, but the blood that runs through my veins is Welsh, so unless it's England Vs. Wales i'll cheer the Welsh on!

How long til the Outer Mongolians enter the RWC with a bunch of washed up SAs,Aussies & NZs who claim some distant relative once clapped eyes on the place?

Japanese papers carry the same opinion, though, Matt. If they're being honest...
