    Default Kondo performing yonkajo technqiues

    Hello,

Could somebody please specify exactly which tape / DVD has footage of Kondo sensei performing yonkajo techniques? Is it the Quest DVD?

    Thanks.

    Question

Following from Budovideos.com with some notes inserted.

As a new student, I am considering putting the Ikkajo two DVD set on my Christmas list. Not to learn ahead of what I am learning, or to "learn" technical aspects of the techniques, but to supplement what I am learning. One of the problems is that when Sensei is teaching us we are either practicing the techniques right away, or sitting/being instructed (away from the notebook). So, after class I scramble to write notes about the techniques, but sometimes I forget the detail - or even the whole technique before I've written it down. Then I can't study it until next time.

I'm thinking that the dvd's might be useful in that type of application, and for general interest. It's a little pricey if I'm wrong about that value though.

There are the two Ikkajo which contain:

    According to budovideos.com
Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu Vol 1 by Kondo VHS #645 has (at least some yonkajo-demonstrated, it doesn't appear to be instruction).

Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu Vol 1 by Kondo VHS This tape includes a Daito Ryu public demonstration held in Tokyo, an interview with Katsuyuki Kondo, and demonstration of ikkajo, nikajo, yonkajo, aiki no jutsu and goshin yo no te techniques in Kondo's dojo.

Most, but not all of this footage was rereleased on the Katsuyuki Kondo Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu DVD. Included on this VHS is some rare footage of Tokimune Takeda teaching.

Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu Vol 2 by Kondo VHS #644

Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu Vol 2 by Kondo VHS Katsuyuki Kondo intructs a variety of techniques from ikkajo through gokajo on this VHS.

Most, if not all, of this footage was rereleased on the DVD of Katsuyuki Kondo. (I can't figure out which DVD this is talking about)(?)

I have Tokimune Takeda Soke on video demonstrating Onoha-Ito Ryu sword and some empty hand techniques. I have offered to share them with Mr. Nathan Scott and he can post them as he sees fit.

I have all of the above mentioned tapes and having compared the performance to those of Tokimune Takeda's direct students in the video footage I Have of them[ over six hours with multiple dojos being represented] find them to be of excellent quality. I agree as a student of Daito Ryu, hard style, all of these tapes are great to have as possible comparison points or just to see how other people are doing what evryone believes is supposed to be done in only one way.
