This is where the Arrestling DT Training Groups brings together Trainers and Officers to train side by side. The two days will cover multiple Mini-blocks of Officer Safety for Patrol, Correctional, Military and Federal Officers. Department Instructors are encouraged to attend for possible ideas for yearly in-service training.

Areas covered:

Physiology of Survival - Dr. Eric Cobb is well known to many and his articles have been published in two continents. Eric's extensive training in Law Enforcement & Personal Defense Readiness programs has earned him the position of Director of Training for Blauer’s SPEAR System.

Advanced Handgun Survival Tactics – Deputy Darrion Holiwell a Nationally ranked shooter and SWAT Operator will teach advanced handgun tactics, to help both basic and advanced shooters.

Introducing SOG New Flash II Folding Training Knife
SOG Law Enforcement Rep. and Arrestling Instructor Gary Drake will cover where to carry, use as a back-up weapon, extreme close quarter use and use during ground confrontations.Flash II Training Knife will be available for purchase at the conference for Special price of $40


Braced Contact Force Options – Trooper Ryan Spurling – will teach how to stay in the fight with a handgun, baton, flashlight, ticket book or whatever you have in your hand. All using common techniques.

Surviving Worst Case Scenarios – Suspect has the drop on you. He has a gun pointed at your head and he’s too far away for a gun take-away. He says turn around and kneel down – what do you do? Will include live fire and simmunition training.

Surviving Confined Space Encounters – Covers both cell, small room or vehicle confrontation using Vertical Surface Control and Takedown Tactics.

Escaping the VKZ –Vehicle Kill Zone – Many Officer are killed while still seated – What are your options when you can’t drive forward, draw your weapon or you can’t exit the car. What do you do?

Weapon Retention – Rear and Ground attacks - two of the most common attacks and hard to defend.

Taser Tactics – This weapon has had a great impact on Offender and Officer Safety in the past 100years. One hot topic in the News is drivestuns (and the signature marks that are left) We will cover improving drivestuns and how to protect your duty weapon and taser at the same time.

Ground Control – New and improved Ground Control Tactics for both Police and Correctional use.

Backup Weapons – Back-up weapons probably would have made a difference in at least 3 officers killed in Washington State within two years. Why don’t more officers carry them, where do you carry them and what do you carry? Some agencies do not allow officer you carry them. Bring your back-up holster and your real and mock weapon.

Equipment needs:

Duty belt, duty handgun, handcuffs, eye protection, hearing protection, groin protection, ballistic vest, mock handgun, elbow/knee pads, hand protection, mouthguard, training knife, 300 rounds of handgun rounds. I will have 9mm and .40 available at the range.

Optional:

Backup weapon, back-up holster, wrestling shoes, sims gun and/or
Airsoft. Sims head/neck protection.
