Okinawan Karate in Monterey/Salinas

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone knows of a good teacher in the Monterey/Salinas, CA area.

I currently live in Monterey, California since last August and will be there until the end of this September. I actually drive the two hours north to San Francisco to train with Sam Ahtye (Shorinkan Shorin Ryu as in Nakazato lineage) twice a week. He has practice Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5 - 7:30 pm.

I didn't find too much in the way of Okinawan karate in the immediate area. There is supposedly some Okinawan kenpo (I think) place in Salinas, perhaps.

Oh, and do you know Skeptical here on this forum? He's also in Honolulu, Hawai'i and was/is my best friend from college. He trains with Sensei Pat Nakata.
