    Default Robert Johnson

Yeah, it's random, but this is the Member's Lounge, isn't it?
    XD
I've only heard one of his songs, "Walking Blues", and considering how early he was playing, I was considerably impressed. Does anyone know anything about Robert Johnson? I've been thinking of getting the Complete Recordings also...GET IT ON!
I know I say "GET IT ON!" a lot, but seriously, MXC is hilarious. Plus, what else should I say? lol Okay, I'm getting off topic. Focus = Robert Johnson.

    Greetings,
Yes, ol' Robert Johson is the dogs knackers. I think you can get just about every song he recorded on one disk now. Good stuff.
Every now and then there will be a documentry on him on TV. An interesting story, and even more interesting how myth seems to grow around him. 'love in vain' is one of my favourites.
    Best regards,

If you haven't seen the guitar film "Crossroads" then watch it.

Supposidly Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil at some Crossroads in exchange for great guitar playing ability, or so the legend goes...

I started listening to Robert Johnson when I was in college, many years ago. His recorded works are limited because he didn't have much money, and died young. Two factors that reduce one's ability to amass a library of works. In fact, his key work was recorded in a hotel room, and that recording captured pretty much the majority of his work.

My favorite: "Love in Vain." For fun: "They're Red Hot" (song about tamales!).

I got introduced to Robert Johnson by a friend in the Navy, and have loved his stuff ever since. It's funny though how a lot of his songs were later redone by CCR.
