Default Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto Ryu in the UK

    Hey guys,

I've got my head stuck in to a bit of research and I wondered if anyone here could put me in touch with legitimate Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto Ryu Sensei (ideally in the UK or, in Europe)

I'm going to do a bit of Google with this also but as with most things unless one is directly involved, how does one know credible from cruddy.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi

I know someone who contacted Mike Jay and he said he was not taking on any students.

I know the Sugino branch affiliated to Hatakeyama is up in stoke as my mate trains with them

    Default Eri Kusano sensei

You could also contact Eri Kusano sensei - a long time student of Yoshio Sugino. She's japanese and located in Norway.

    Her address is: Eri Kusano

The request was for legitimate TSKSR instructors. There are none in Germany or Norway, Mr. Jay is the contact in the UK.

    Hi

Mr Jay is the ocntact for the Otake (and Soke) branch, however there also exists the Sugino which is legitmate in there own eyes as they recieved permission from the previous soke.

this argument has been discussed to death in previous threads so no eed for us to continue it here now is there.

FYI: They have a close relationship with the current soke as well.

That doesn't mean it is correct.

    Kristoffer

Is that what a flame looks like in Norwegian???!!!
Reg Winnall and friends in Stoke are a good bunch, although Reg is now semi-retired due to his mrs not being too well. They have Regoli sensei come over from Italy every so often, so although they keep quiet they are quite well organised.

Why are you reading this instead of being out training? No excuses accepted...

Flame? Oh no, as i see it there are several good bunches around, who carry on certain traditions with sincere, correct and hard practise, despise what the righteous koryu "internetionalists" say about "legitimacy". Their contribution to the continuation and survival of the ryu can be just as important in the long run, as the "main branch".

But it aint my cup of sake, I am not personally involved in this matter, being just a small indian in the big tribe of mean bastards called the kendo-community. Legitimate bastards every one I have seen so far, no need of lineage to prove that. Haha.
