Dear friends, teachers, and fellow students,
I have disturbing news tonight,
my very close and personal friend, teacher and mentor HANSHI GORDON GARLAND has suffered a stroke, he had this problem last year as well with 100% and 98 % blockage in his arteries. He is 78 years old, and holds 10th, 9th, and 6th dans. He is a great man, but could REALLY, REALLY use your prayers and good thoughts in this time of need, so please the latter would be welcomed and much appriciated I have been informed.
He was a student of the late Robert Trias, and a WWII vet. He was the first man to make Kobudo weapons in the country, and even today his skill in making both metal (sai) and wooden kobudo weapons (especially) is unrivaled.
So please friends, send your prayers and thoughts, they are greatly needed!
I will keep you updated on his condition as I can.
Thank you again,
in budo,
