I've become curious about the coming of age ceremony in the late 1200's, during the Kamakura period, in which boys were "presented with their first adult clothes, and their boys' hairstyles were changed to the adult style."

I'd like to read a description of these actual differences in clothes and hair or even see pictures but google searches in English have gotten me nowhere.

Perhaps a search in Japanese would be better?
