Cast your votes now or we will hunt you down like......

    Reminder: Voting Rule

To vote, one must have at least been here 6 months and have at least 50 posts assigned to them. The Admins will check a polling data and review all members that polled. This will make sure that we don't have an influx of students or friends joining E-Budo just to vote.

After 30 days of voting or once the poll has reached 100 members, whichever comes first, the thread will be locked. All data will be reviewed by all E-Budo Moderators.

    There are more polls open!

The most voted poll is Draeger and he only has 13 votes. Anyone else care to vote?

Go to the Good forum and Nominations to check out all the polls. E-Budo now has a Good section, so give it some business and show you're not here just for the bad.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Well, since Donn Draeger has gotten just a handful of votes (as of May 15, 2005), and E.J. Harrison and Trevor Leggett have gotten even fewer, it is possible that this is simply documentation that one goes broke emphasizing the positive. After all, who among us is likely to accomplish more than any of these gentlemen?

I suppose that this should be viewed as a disappointment rather than a surprise. After all, this is a world where politicians emphasize defense against the Evil Empire next door, preachers routinely promise hellfire, and National Enquirer is found at most checkout lines (except those advertised as Family Friendly, which is the one you breeze through, as nobody goes there).

So, I suppose the lesson learned should be this: If you want to make minimum wage from teaching martial arts, then you ought to consider throwing away the substance, and buying yourself a clown suit instead. Otherwise, get a job and a family, and if the martial arts still remain important to you, then keep doing them, too.

    Yes, very disappointing.

I guess people would rather talk about the negative than to support a positive. Just like whenever there is a flame war you will see more hits on that thread than a positive thread. I guess that is human nature.

Hi George. I'll echo your sentiments here. Often time we do shrug off people who has made ample amount of accomplishment in their lives. Our society is so imbued on things that catches their attentions and things that makes them feel good about themselves.

If we look at Hollywood for instance, We rarely see anything media coverages on movie stars that are living a normal life. The media knows this full well. They know that the public would rather read on things that are tawdry, scandalous and lurrid tales of a public figure's personal life.

Just take a look at what's going on TV nowdays, Reality shows thrives on this stuff. Even the the Martial Arts is doing the very same thing. The reality show TUF is a major misconception of what a martial artist is all about.

I believed that there is still hopes here at E-budo. Perhaps the nominees do not have the same scandalous ,tawdry and lurrid life that worth reading into. But, I think we as budokas should not dismissed their contributions and their passions to the arts they represented as anything but boring and unworthy of recognition.

    Default Wish I could vote

I am new to E Budo. This is my first post. I wish I could vote; it would be nice to honor one of these fine gentlemen.

The vote is still a bit mysterious. I did not see an explanation of what the vote is for.

Your original post says; "cast your vote." For what? As best as I can tell the vote is for naming the winner as an E Budo VIP...or something.
