    Default Koryuu in Boston

    Hi,

I am looking for koryuu schools in the Boston, MA area. If anyone has any information on any in this area, I would be most appreciative.

Question Koryu in the Boston, MA area?

    Hi everyone!

So the title pretty much says it all... I'll be going to school in the Boston area next year and I'm looking for a koryu dojo to train at. Will need to be close enough that I can get there on the T or by commuter rail.

    Thanks for your help!

Providence would be too far for me to travel to practice twice/three times a week since I'll be relying solely on public transportation... But thanks for the tip!

There are, if my memory serves me correctly, a couple of guys from the Boston Area who travel up to Providence to practice.

Never hurts to find out if you can carpool.

    Hello Tom,
There is MJER iaido in Cambridge ... http://www.bostoniaido.com/
The Doshikai also teaches MJER iaido ... http://www.doshikai.org/

Those are as close to koryu as you'll get in that area, as far as I know. It may be worth talking to the kendo folks to see if they know of anything else in the area.

Good luck, and let us know how your search turns out.

They seem pretty good too. Has anyone been out to see them yet?
