Question Umm... am I posting in the right forum???

    Hi all,

I am new here and was really just looking for information on self defense and disabilities. See, I have cerebral palsy and I can walk, but most of my day is spent in a wheelchair. I have a fair amount of upper body strength, and thought that maybe -- since I am disabled (and a woman) -- it would be a good idea to think about learning (at least very basic) self defense.

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try doing some research about Molly Hale. You can start here:

    Phenomenal story.

But, for now, here on E-Budo, the rules require that you post your name on each message. You can to go "User CP" and edit your signature so that it automatically does that for you.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I suggest you turn to those who are specialised in the subject selfdefense and disabilities. The organisation "Kidpower" is not focussed only on kids, but for all kinds of people and they hold workshops for people with disabilities

I have good experience from one of the chapters regarding self defense for women.

    Where do you live?

I may be able to recommend teachers who have worked with people with various disabilities.
