LOL, general sparring is a good way to get injured, thats for sure.
these days I tend to train drills, all be it some very free flowing drills, work independant aspects.
for heavy cntact sparring we know use body armour and head gear and it seems to be working out, the skill is to keep things under a little control I find, or someone simply gets hurt which still happens on occasion.
however when I look back at my semi contact days there were far more injuries, grown men, little mitts and adrenalin - someones going to get hurt, and they did by the dozens..........
