Looking for a Training Partner near Detroit or Toledo
I'm looking for a training partner in southern Detroit, Michigan or northern Toledo, Ohio.
I practice traditional Okinawan Gojuryu.
If interested, please contact me via private message.
Adults only, please.
Thanks!

Re. Looking for a Training Partner near Detroit or Toledo
Thanks for the suggestion. I am already a Ryusyokai student.
My immediate instructor will be moving soon, so I will still be training with next-closest Ryusyokai folks as often as possible, however, that's going to be monthly at best, so what I'm really looking for is someone close by to train with more often, weekly if possible.
Thanks!

I have heard that there is a former student of Morio Higaonna or from his lineage that trains at Iha Seikichi sensei's in Lansing.
Maybe this may help.
Who is your sensei by the way?

Hey John
Hey John -
Its Jon Hallberg. Matt is my senior student and he's going to be taking over the reins in the Detroit area for Ryusyokai. He's in good company, with Tim Calkins up in Ortonville and Mark Gillett right in Windsor, but none are that close in terms of regular training. I'll be moving to Okinawa shortly after Christmas. Where are you training these days? Hope all is going well and thanks for the suggestions,
J.

Hello Jon,
I am training on my own right now and planning on coming back soon to Iha sensei's dojo.
Glad to hear you are going to Okinawa-please give Senaha sensei my best regards.
I hope everything works out well for you there and you post some stories of the motherland. It would help all of us to hear of your experiences.
Best wishes JOhn Cross

Okinawan Systems-Michigan
I know what is here in Lansing,East Lansing,Okemos and the surrounding towns for all martial styles. I have been to many of the schools. I am not a student of the Okinawan systems but I do train with some of the students and I have been to every school.
I am moving to the Detroit area in a few months.
