Default Question regarding a pre 1944 Picture?

    Hello E-Budo Members,

See link below of a pre 1944 picture. They have Shimoda Takeshi Sensei listed as the person to the right of Funakoshi Gichin Sensei? I have seen a pic of Shimoda Takeshi, and it does not look like the same person?
Does anyone know about the orgins of this photo? The person seated next to Funakoshi Sensei sort of looks like a very young Shimabukuro Zenryo Sensei founder of Seibukan?

Heiko Bittman in his The Teachings of Karatedo (2005) also identifies that individual as Takeshi Shimoda. The photograph published in Egami's Way of Karate on page 11 of Funakoshi and Shimoda could just about be him if he had lost or cut his hair for some reason.....maybe.
