Default Berlin Training, November 17th-19th 2006

    Dear all

    Gassho

I've just had confirmation from Sensei Jörg to post this event on E-budo.

On Friday 17th November, 5 kenshi from Southampton University Dojo are visiting our friends at the Berlin University Dojo for 3 days of training. We are then returning on Monday morning, grinning and aching. If you are interested please let us know.

As I was reading this I was listening to National Public Radio (NPR) and this news segment about Berlin came on. I suggest you press listen as the transcript is not complete and less entertaining.

    Gassho,

yes indeed its time for the next training event in Berlin. Not a big one though, just a couple of extra sessions on that wekend and some sightseeing and pub crawling around that. Whoever likes the idea of a November-weekend in the
heart of Europe is welcome to join in. I am in discussion with Wunderle Sensei, he might come to Berlin on Friday/Saturday and teach half of the weekend then.

From what I know the Sothampton Kenshi paln to get the Ryanair plane Monday morning leaving 9.30 in Berlin, which is probably too late to start work at 10, sorry. Think you can arrange to start later? Would be great to see you again.

What do you think of throwing mathematical formulae at each other as a form of randori? Or capitals of remote countries, just to scare the opponent's !!! off?

Default Thanks to everyone, and one especially...

    Gassho!

Yes, we did have a great time. By now meeting Southampton Kenshi is indeed like having a party with family members who live far away (I have those, too, and the feelings are the same). It is an extremely enrichening experience to train with people from other Dojos, and especially other countries.
I would like to give my thanks to everyone who made this possible, to everyone who took the effort to come over, and especially to one who couldn't, but without whom nothing of this would ever have been possible. Thank You very much, Ade-sensei.

    Default Thank you so much

    Dear all

    Gassho

Thank you for another fantastic weekend, I speak for all the Southampton kenshi who attended when I say we had a brilliant time and the training was great! I had far too much beer, not enough sleep and a strange sensation of deja vu.

The only one standing by the end was Percy... the force is strong with that one!

... to follow this thought, we have to thank kaiso and dharma and last but not least "e-budo".

    Great Photos!!

I note that a number of kenshi are wearing the old SK badge. Is this still common and/or acceptable in Europe?
