    Hm...*Darth Vader voice*: "Impressive...not"!

I think the force is weak with this one.

Any explanation of why the umpire is wearing a ghostbusters outfit? Maybe ist's the new, patent pending chi-vac.

    Just....... why?

In this day and age do you insist upon such silliness?

Old-style "fight-cam" and battery pack, for recording the "referee's eye" view.

I notice that the audience, host and fellow guests react to the venerable grandmaster exactly the same way I do - with barely concealed hilarity.

The world would be a much less amusing place without Mr. Kim.

EDIT: Charlie! Welcome back! Where you been?
    Cheers,

I think most of those videos are quite old. Ashida Kim had his heyday in the 80's and it's all been down hill from there.

To those of you with a 'Myspace' account you can see some of the latest Ashida Kim pics here:

I especially love the light saber poses.

Hehe...I posted that exact comment on the video and the uploader banned me from commenting on any of his vids...

Sounds like typical Ashida Kim marketing to me, sweep negative press under the carpet and only post positive reviews...unfortunately for him, he can't block out votes. 1/5 rating even though all the comments are raves

That was a camera and battery pack that the referee was wearing, believe it or not. 80's technology methinks?

Couldn't help but laugh at the vid where he lists "stomp on him" as one of the vicious techniques guaranteed to kill or maim, then "roll him over, stomp on him again!" The tone of his voice just made me laugh. Still, the speed he did it all was impressive. Would be interested to see if how long it'd take him against a live opponent, giving the throw, stomps, and rolling over

So, I've watched the vid carefully over and over. You know what I see?
I see karate kickboxing and judo. I see the combatants jumping into and with the throws and a lot of pro wrestle over acting. I see a total lack of combat awareness or readiness in between techniques. I see sports, sports, sports. Where is the Koga ryu Ninjitsu?
Yet somehow we get people comenting like this:

"Even a Kind man can be pushed to do things with in reason, because no matter how wise and patient the man may be, he is still just a man! Ninjutsu/Ninjitsu call what ever makes you happy is not a way of sport, it is a way of life, and we all know that a part of life is understanding death. The dude with no shirt is lucky to be alive!"

"hell yeah that dude is lucky to be alive. But if it was a real life or death situation, he would have died in a matter of seconds, if that."

"I am totally impressed. That Ninja is the REAL deal, totally hard f**ker!"

    Kids these days.
