No, no, if that were me, there'd be a bit more of a bulge ...

    And more hair ...

And the thighs, says Emily, are too damn skinny.

Default (Almost) final update from rehab

Tomorrow's my last day here! Huzzah!

I finish up my treatment and therapy here tomorrow and HW's coming to take me home. Time to blow this pop stand!

My wife had her hip replaced in January. She's doing great!

I was sitting at a Picnic at our national training center. I was between a couple of ladies, one my age, one a bit older. The more mature of the two had just been promoted to 7th Dan, the first woman in the organization to reach that rank and the other to 3rd Dan. For some reason, I mentioned that my wife had her hip replaced in January. In stereo, "Been there, done that!"

Didn't seem to have slowed them down any!

Good luck with it and remember: the sooner you do it the faster you'll get to the healing part.

The doctor who will do my surgery is supposed to be the best in central Florida, and maybe the entire state. I saw several of his patients after knee surgery and the incision was only a 2-3 inches long, right below the cap. One of them walked out of his office and jumped up, clicked his heels, and yelled that he was cured! He looked to be about my age, around 67-ish.

A three-day stay in the hospital with a week's in-house therapy (somewhere else) and follow-up, he says I’ll be 0.5 to 1.0 inches taller and like a teenager again. Time will tell

Default Pic from the dojo, last week (plus one)

A few pics from last week at the dojo:

Note the physio-ball. I'm still limited to a max (theoretically) of 20 kg weight on the right leg (until end of month).

And a pic from Saturday in Kallmuenz, an old castle town south of here, with friends Kevin and Carissa:
