    Clockwise or anti-clockwise?

    I'm clockwise

I was also clockwise but after I stared a while at it it turned for a few moments. I certainly like the right brain more than the left (with the exeption of words and languages).

I think the image is a prank. It is an animated GIF.

If I change my position to the monitor, I can make her change her direction more often...

Wierd. I'm not convinced that it actually means anything. I saw her spinning the same way all the time (for maybe 2 minutes)--clockwise, I think--although I didn't concentrate very hard on trying to make my brain flip her around. The thing is, I am something of a hybrid of cognitive styles according to the list. The second list applied to me more uniformly than the first, but among other things I am VERY language-oriented.

I heard an expert (a professor of neuropsychology I think)on the radio here in Melbourne (The Herald Sun is a melbourne newspaper) discussing this last week. He stated that such tests have no practical applications and no one really knows if what you see has any predictive value in terms of right or left brain dominance.

Colin is spot on in stating that he is a hybrid of cognitive styles. So are most other people.

The only thing I've learnt from this is that John Lindsey is married to an articulated fashion mannequin .

As far as I can tell, the popular notions of brain-lateralization is almost akin to cheesy personality tests and even pseudo-science. People would like to have a biological categorization for their strengths and personality, but it's much more complex than that. It's not like one half of your brain is "smarter" or more "retarded" than the other side, it's just that you probably use and develop certain parts of each side to different degrees.

The corpus callosum, which controls the communication between the hemispheres, might be a better indicator... but scientists that study it really need to get their shit together. There are so many myths in psychology that need to be replaced by some solid neuroscience.

...Anyway, the direction the girl was going in my eyes switched back and forth. Every time I looked back, she was going the opposite way.

I don't see the connection to Shorinjikempo with this subject and will move it to the lounge.
