Default Most amazing martial artist ever

(This is cross-posted from some other martial arts forums, hope that doesn't annoy you too much)

    Hi, all,

I was hoping to solicit y'all's opinions on a question I posed at my blog today...

    http://mokurendojo.blogspot.com/2007...-you-ever.html

I'm not looking to have a bunch of kool-aid drinking, cult-of-personality type discussions - I just want to know who is the martial artist that you've personally met that you think you would most like to emulate.

    Thanks
    Pat

The martial artist that I most want to emulate is Sensei Rex, the founder of Rex Kwan Do. After one week with him in his dojo, "you'll be prepared to defend yourself with the strength of a grizzly, the reflexes of a puma, and the wisdom of a man." I wanna sign my kids up for his Mini Kwan Do program!

As Sensei Rex says "BOW TO YOUR SENSEI!!!"

    Hi Ricky,
How many people on this planet do you think go by my monicker?
Here's my version of the Rex Kwan Do videoclip -- I could only find the altered YouTube Poop version(to evade CR infringement):

    Default Mr. Shin

Mr. shin, taught me judo when my dad was stationed at Offutt AFB, Nebraska. He use to go around the mat and pinch the kids horsing around during lessons with his toes. He was and amazing athlete. His judo was flawless. I googled his name and found this article.

    GRANDMASTER SUK KI SHIN

    OMAHA, NEB.
Suk Ki Shin, 66, of Omaha

He was born April 28, 1940, in South Korea, and moved to the United States in 1968. In 1972, Grandmaster Shin founded Shin's Judo, Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido Academy. He also taught at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Creighton University in Omaha.

Mr. Shin was a ninth-degree black belt in Tae Kwon do, eighth-degree black belt in Judo, and eighth-degree black belt in Hapkido. His accomplishments include winning the Korean National Championship and first Asian Championship, being appointed special bodyguard to protect the South Korean president and training the Korean Special Forces in martial arts.

Bob Jackson is the Master's Master. He is awsome. Better than Rex anyday period.
    Watch him in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Sqwe...eature=related

All kidding aside, the person that I admire the most is my Sensei, Chris Garcia, Shihan of the Kyushin Ryu. He has instructed many throughout the years without consideration for money or accolade. He is one of the most gifted martial artists (cross trained in many stand up and ground arts)I have had the privilidge to train with over the last 18 years. He is a humble man who stands about 5'8'' and weighs about 160lbs.,and can take down 300lb+ men with extreme ease. His weapons knowledge is vast and very technical with extraordinary application skills. He emulates the true spirit of a Warrior in all aspects, both on and off the mat. He is a Luitenant in the Victoria Texas County Sheriffs Dept (Gang Unit). I have been privy to study(past and present) with several well known Masters and Grand Masters, but none of them impress me as much as my Sensei. I always kid around and tell him that when I grow up I want to be just like him. I'm 50.

Go, Bob! His hair alone is worth the price of admission.
Wonder if that was from the old "In Living Color" show on Fox?

Ah. I don't remember that character.
I was always partial to Fire Marshal Bill, though. He doesn't qualify as a martial artist - amazing or otherwise - but is another character so typical of Carrey's bizarre personality.

My vote will naturally go to So Doshin, founder of Shorinji Kempo.
For a view of the techniques...
