Hi Jeff,
Henry has been known to "exaggerate" a little when it comes to rank. As a student in my dojo in Miami, I asked him to give me a brief bio of his background and previous martial arts experience for the dojo newsletter. He had just received his Shodan from me in Budo Taijutsu. I asked all the black belts at the time to do the same. Everyone else submitted a short one page bio.
Henry handed me FOUR PAGES of stuff!
Among the wild, unverifiable claims was a Shodan in Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu. Daito ryu doesn't use a Dan rank system. It's based on Mokuroku. At that time I don't even think there was a Daito ryu school in the United States! So unless he was deceived by his instructor in "Daito ryu" (whom he never named), then he was intentionally trying to deceive me and everyone else about his so-called "experience".
Anyone that wants to know the truth about Mr. Infante should do a name search on the Florida Dept. of Law Enforcement website.
Here, I'll save you the trouble...
The attachments are part of Mr. infante's criminal record from FDLE.
As you can see by the felony arrests for kidnapping, extortion and robbery, the real question isn't whether Mr. Infante can teach anyone anything about counter-terrorism. The question is who is going to protect us from HIM and people like him. Terrorists are the ones that kidnap people at gunpoint to extort ransom, NOT martial arts instructors. Good ones anyway...
Henry is a likeable guy. He knows a lot of the right names to drop. He is very much into martial arts and I commend him for trying to put his past behind him. We have all made mistakes and I know he has served his time and paid his debt to society. However, as is evidenced, he continues to "exaggerate" about his background and experience in order to give himself more credibility. And probably to blow up his already enormous ego.
I won't go on since this isn't the forum for Bad Budo. Caveat Emptor.
Happy Holidays to all.
