    Nice sim with Japanese commentary.
It's a crust-buster. I can't speak Japanese but I suspect the longwinded commentary is along the lines of "if this happens we're screwed".

I love how the "asteroid" is perfectly spherical, appears to have volcanoes, and is the size of a planet.

It's simply a red hot Ceres that's momentarily dropped out of orbit!
BTW, there's a real chance of a small asteroid hitting Mars at the end of this month. Personally I hope it does since it will reveal a lot about Martian geology. Might even provide a really good show like the ones that hit Jupiter a few years back.

I have this fantasy of the asteroid hitting Mars and a great cosmic noise as Gawd glances at Earth, snaps his fingers and mutters "damn... missed".

Can't wait for Al Gore to blame it on global warming and the Bush Administration!

At least we will get a suntan out of it.

Will the asteroid give me super powers? Because that's really the only way to get me excited about it.

My opinion is, in all likelihood, worth exactly what you are paying for it.
