Both are. Think about it. If I were to draw my family tree, I would have my grandfather, my father, and myself on chart. If my cousins were to draw their family tree, they might have my grandfather, then their mother (my father's sister), and then themselves. Would I say that their branch of the family were liars? No, of course not. Their family tree is correct-- for their branch of the family. Two branches of the same ryu have two different lineages, just like two branches of the same family have different lineages.

Where on earth did you hear something ridiculous like that?

My opinion is, in all likelihood, worth exactly what you are paying for it.

    Question Sakakibara

(Check the list whose got menkyo from Sakakibara Kenkichi! But this was just an example!)
According to the comments of the owner of the japanese IP the "Hyakuren Kai" list is wrong! Unfortunately I don't know the truth! (But how can be somebody in one linkage the 16th and in the other the 17th headmaster?)

    More statements from him:
"Yamada Sensei did not give out Menkyou to any of his Deshi."
"Please note this is not the correct lineage for the Seito ha. Souhonbu is the offical representative line of this Martial Art."
"Hyakuren Kai doesn't exist anymore. Hayakawa sensei changed the name to Souhonbu."
    "Hyakuren Kai became Souhonbu."

This sort of conflict of interest is not too unusual on wikipedia unfortunetely.
There might be one or more branches, official or not, editing the article represent their branches version. The Hyoho Niten Ichi Ryu is one example as it has been all but hijacked by a branch school claiming supreme leadership of the ryu and is changing the article to reflect this.
Its also very difficult to revert such changes since wikipedia admins normally aren't familiar with ryuha, let alone their internal politics.
I've personally almost given up trying to run the gauntlet with some of these articles.

    Question Current headmaster...

Does somebody know who is Iwasa Kyoushyusai? Is he the same person as Iwasa Masaru? Or somebody else?

What list would this be? Where did you find it? If I recall the Bugei Ryuha Daijiten correctly, Yamada Jirokichi was listed as a menkyo kaiden under Sakibara. Unfortunately, I don't have my copy of that book on hand at the moment, so I can't double-check it.

    Smile Pictures

    Hi Everybody!

Do anybody have pictures about the headmasters?
The most important for me is the picture of Matsumoto Bizen-no-Kami and Yamada Heizaemon Mitsunori!
    Thanks a lot!
