Default Ueshiba's nephew Yoichiro Inoue and his style of Aikido - Shin'ei Taido

    Hi.

I ran into a group that practices Shin'ei Taido, which is now the name for Inoue aikido.

Inoue was a nephew of Ueshiba Morihei, and developed his own aikido-like style. Other than the Aikido Journal article on Yoichiro Inoue, does anyone know anything about this style? I also can't spot any prior threads on this, if there are any.

    Thanks,

    Lance

Default It has had that name for a while...

One of the early (then called) Aiki News Aiki Friendship Festivals featured Inoue Sensei. IIRC, there is also some interview footage of him floating about...

    Be well,

    Hi Lance,
In case you are still interested, I follow a blog whose autor Ricardo Amorim always comments my blog, as I comment his posts, he practices Shin'ei Taido and visited last year Kawanabe Sensei in Japan, here is one of his articles about his visit, it is in portuguese, but you can translate it in english, I usually use the translator of his blog for spanish and it is quite understandable http://shineitaido.blogspot.com.es/2...be-shihan.html
I found his articles very interesting.

I am remiss in not thanking you for this sooner. I lost my old password and finally just set up a new account, but by then forgot why I wanted back in E-Budo! I actually studied Portuguese, so can make my way through the article. Thanks again, Lance GAtling
