'Shuri's Bugei-kan Kancho, Higa Seitoku, (Matsu San Chin). Transmitted by Bushi Takemura (previously called Jou San Chin). Speculates that it is one part of the Jou / Ge San Chin kata set common in Fuzhou'.
Could you give me the source for this please? I know that Matsu Sanchin was taught by Seitoku Higa and is still practised at the Bugeikan, but myself and others were of the impression that Matsu Sanchin was not part of the Takemura lineage of Kata. According to Kiyohiko Higa the only Kata his father Seitoku Higa learnt of the Takemura lineage were Nidanbu, Takemura no Naihanchi, Takemura no Passai (Ryufa), Takemura no Kusanku (Obviously that also leaves a discrepancy with Sanpbu as well). Matsu Sanchin does not seem to have been passed to Seiken Shukumine by Kishomoto and does not appear in Gensei or Taido either (but then neither does Nidanpabu).
