    Default Kotodama

Does anyone practice this power of words? I know some Aikido sensei's and some Iaido that practice this, using that " bell". Dunno how its called in Japanese, or even english. Only know the words they use, and speed. Anyone practices this among their martial art?

Maybe you already know this, but John Stevens has published tapes of KOTODAMA.

Some people you may wish to contact off line about this are Koichi Barrish, a Shinto priest, Fred Little (who discusses it in an aikido faq floating around the net somewhere, William Gleason (who has discussed it in his book), and George Ledyard, who, judging by private correspondence, knows quite a bit about it.

Would like to hear what you come up with. Good luck.

Barrish Guji actually performed Shinzen Kekkon Shiki (Wedding Ceremony) for my wife and I. He is actually both an aikido sensei and a shinto guji (priest), so he would be a perfect individual to contact about this. You can find his contact info here: http://www.tsubakishrine.org/home.html

An interesting side note: he is actually the first non-Japanese shinto priest in the entire history of the religion.
