I really like the song. It is obviously a 1980' Glam Rock tune but am not aware of the tittle or artist .

    Can anyone enlighten me?

BTW, apart from 'Deep Within Each Man' what is the best motivational song for SK?

It is taken from the movie "Best of The Best" an American martial arts movie from 1989 with Eric Roberts and Chris Penn. There were sequels (1993), but this tune, I think, comes from the first one. Here is the youtube music video with that tune, and clips from the movie.

I'll think of a proper sig when I get a minute...

For now, I'm just waiting for the smack of the Bo against a hard wooden floor....

Internet Movie Database lists the soundtrack. The tune in question would appear to be "Best of the Best" by Ike Stubblefield and Hall(?).

    Default Request about a song...

    Gassho,

Does anyone know the name of the song used at "Busen"?
I can hear that song at "Tokyo Busen Course" but I think it's the official song for all the Busen Course.
If someone know the singer and the name of the song, i would be very grateful

    Gassho,

The best motivational song for Shorinji Kempo is of course 'Tubthumping' by Chumbawumba.
The drinking references don't count but the chorus "I get knocked down but I get up again" is of course Nana Korobi Ya Oki set to music

Although it doesn't have a punchbag beat and an aerobic rhythym section, I'm rather fond of the inspirational lyrics of Whitney Houston's "One Moment In Time". Put it over a video collection of sporting successes and failures and you're sure to raise a tear or two. In terms of Self-Defense, all I really want is to find that moment "#when I'm all that I thought I could be".

Of course, I also rather like Guns N Roses "Night Train", with lines such as "#Ready to crash and burn, I'll never learn".

Now, if it comes to helping each other and half for oneself, etc. then there is always Rolf Harris' "Two Little Boys" - "#Did you think I would leave you dying, when there's room on my horse for two..."

Thank the gods nobody has suggested Gloria Gaynor and "I Will Survive"...

Some of my favourite motivational songs.
    Bon Jovi's 'It's my life',
    Aerosmith's 'I don't want to miss a thing'
    Survivor's 'Eye of the Tiger'
Queen's 'One Vision' - ['We are the Champions' is great but not for SK]
Twisted Sisters - 'We're not gonna take it'
    Rainbow's - 'She shed (subtle)'
    Rose Tattoo's - 'We can't be beaten'
Kenny Rogers' - 'Coward of the county'
