    Default Martial Artists

Excuse as I may not have this thread in the proper forum section.

I was visiting a cohort in his office when he produced on his computer monitor an article about a martial artist being an arrested on child molestation. He had appeared to have done more research, and found other news correspondence, with other martial artists, committing other crimes or misconduct. His origination of our discussion forthwith started; “Look, your people are messing up everywhere. Looks like your guys are not so perfect after all.”

I started to discuss, on how many people have a stereotype or misconception of a lot of things. And like clergy, police officers, and even mothers of children, all have fallacies and all have problems with the law or proper virtuous behavior.

Do you think it is within the interest of martial art discipline to be dishonest and/or be treacherous?

Should a martial artist carry on any manners to be deceitful?

There are bad people in every profession. And like other professions, martial artists provide a much more positive influence on society.

Is it odd, the idea of martial arts trying to teach people to become better beyond physical prepareness? Should it not be, that people should strive to do this without needing martial arts?

And those who are not martial artists, and/or "professionals", shouldn't they too, strive to be a better person? Why is it that society is not abundantly shocked when someone of common populace does something demeaning?

Are we to methodically assume that martial artists are in a profession, and not a "way of life"?
