    Default Aikido - which style?

I would value some feedback regarding the various Aikido styles as I am looking to begin training later this year.

    Aiki Ki (Iwama)
    Yoshinkan
    Iwama Shin Shin Shurenkai

I am looking at the above styles in Melbourne Australia and would value some feedback regarding the philosphy, training approach, political affiliations, cross federation recpgnition of grades etc of these styles.

I will of course visit various dojo and speak directly with their sensei but the feedback is still valuable.

    Welcome to E-Budo.

I would begin by reading through the top 'sticky' post in this forum, entitled Aikido Flavors.

For me, everything would depend on the locals.

Searching fora would yield more results than asking the question again.

YouTube is a good source, too.

Reading won't tell you much about the dojo. Contact the teachers. Watch their classes. They may be doing stuff slightly differently or give a different perspective from what you would read about.
