http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83RrhMsn2TI
This is (Part 1) is a series of video clips from a rare video of Shizuto Masunaga, the founder of Zen Shiatsu.
Shizuto Masunaga (増永静人 1925-1981) was a Japanese Shiatsu practitioner and who founded the art of "Zen Shiatsu". Masunaga Sensei was born in 1925 in Kure, Hiroshima Japan and graduated in Psychology from Kyoto University. In 1959, he graduated from the Japan Shiatsu College and went on to teach Psychology at the college. Masunaga Sensei passed away at the age of 57 in 1981.
Masunaga Sensei contributed to the further development of Shiatsu by developing a system of meridian extensions known as "Keiraku Hansha". These are extensions of the standard meridians used in all forms of Asian medicine.
In recent times, many strange made up forms of bodywork have polluted the field of Shiatsu. I hope more people will be drawn to correct forms of training.
I hope all practitioners of Shiatsu and Budo enjoy seeing this video of Masunaga Sensei.
