Default Thhoughts on the evolution of Shotokan?

    Hi all,
It is a very open ended topic, but one I am curious to get the ideas of forum members on.
I have heard a lot about the direction that 'Shotokan' has moved in since it's originator brought it to Japan.
Has it improved? is it wasted or corrupted? is it a viable modern Budo?
    a waste of time?

Does Karate need to be practiced with an emphasis on traditional conditioning equipment to remain a viable self defence tool?

many thanks in advance for your thoughts.

    Red face

oops- perhaps that explains the lack of movement here.
I have only been hanging around here for a few months now- apologies as it seems I have missed the conversation.
I will scout around for it. will also see about removingthe thread- there is no purpose to its existence beyond stimulating discussion on that topiic- and if its done- its done.

    thanks for the tip.
