Default Kenjutsu / Battojutsu Newcastle upon Tyne

    Hi all.

Are their any kenjutsu dojo (of any ryu) within striking distance of Newcastle upon Tyne?

Google pickings are slim and all I have been able to find is this:

    Kind regards

That Ryuko Dojo will be Bujinkan, where kenjutsu is part of the cirricumlum.

Shihan Keith Porter is fantastic, you should train with him if you have the chance. ;-)

    Hi Ben,
I would advise asking this question over on the KendoWorld forum. There are quite a number of Brits that post regularly over there. I'm sure one of them could point you in the right direction.

    Good luck!

According to the HNIR UK website, there is a study group in Newcastle. Also, the BKA has maps to affiliated dojo. Ojika dojo in Newcastle and also Budokan dojo further south in Durham both offer Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu. Give them a call, watch a few classes.

    Good luck in your search.

    Have a look at www.northlakesjujutsu.co.uk
Its in carlisle, might be a bit of a drive but it has a full time dojo. With classes in the afternoon aswell as evening classes. They teach Motoha Yoshin Ryu Jujutsu which is a branch of the classical Hontai Yoshin Ryu-Takagi Ryu Jujutsu headed by Soke Yasumoto Akiyoshi 10th Dan.

    Hope this helps

I teach in Middlesborough, but have a couple of students who live up there.... another guy has just moved up from Leeds, who has been around 15 years that I know of in my group...Laurence and Mike would be more than capable of teaching a class...
Perhaps this is an opportune time for them to get a training session/dojo together??

You are also more than welcome to pop down to my dojo at the university to take a look. Classes are free of charge.

Why are you reading this instead of being out training? No excuses accepted...
