    I dont know where ths thread should be placed;

    What, to your knowledge, are common martial arts myths?

    Let's start a list and/or discussion

    How about "black belts need to register their hands as deadly weapons" and "you don't wash your belt"?

    If a Japanese sword is drawn, it can't be put back in the scabbard until it has shed blood.

    All the karate-ka....training, training, training, all the time and is prohibited fighting in the street....so if you need defend your self...can't use it?????

    Hwarang-do.

    The ancient origins of taekwondo

    Okinawan peasants defeating armored samurai by punching through the armor.

    Jumping kicks designed to knock mounted samurai from horseback.

    What!!!??!! You mean I've been practicing the ancient spine ripping kata for nothing????? Don't tell me that the "Punch through the chest and rip out the heart, and show it to him before he dies" Kata is a myth too!
