    Default Okinawan Sumo techniques

In Shoshin Nagamine's Tales of Okinawa's Great Masters he lists the following techniques:
    koshi (hip technique)
    nushi
    watanushi
    hichinushi
    meegaki
    uchi meegaki
    finushi
    machi
    ashi harai
    hiza guruma
    ten meegaki
    hichichinushi
Now besides koshi as hip technique he doesn't explain what these are.
I know judo has a hiza guruma which could be adapted to belt wrestling.
Ashi harai I think would be a foot sweep.
Does anyone know specifics of these techniques?
    Thanks,
    Len

Sounds right. I was his student in 1961-62 and Nagamine sensei, some other karateka and I would randori on his wood floors occasionally. I was primarily a Judo guy but many of his friends and students were as well. Nagamine was awarded Judo shodan in 1946. The sumo in Okianwa was not like in Japan and was more of less small guy Sumo with mor4e throwing and whatnot. It was fun to mix Judo, karate and Sumo with some old masters and their students.
