    Default Katori Shinto Ryu

I have seen on the schedule for Japan Fest that there is a Demo for Katori Shinto Ryu done by Atlanta Katori. Can anyone tell me any info on this school like where they are at and any contact info? Thanks in advance for any info you can give.

First port of call for TSKSR in the USA is Phil Relnick:

Are you asking about the TSKSR school in general or the study group in Atlanta in specific?

If your asking about the school then the link Scott provided is perfectly fine. But if you're interested in that particular study group I don't think it'll help you. The study group seems to affiliated with Sugawara-sensei. He does not teach under the supervision of the main branch for whom Phil is the official representative.

My guess on Sugawara-sensei is based on the finding of this page:
    http://www.sugawarabudo.com/sbudo_seminars.html

I could be completely wrong so don't take my word for it! =)
But if I am on the right track then Sugawara is well known Aikikai Aikido teacher and the group will probably be attached to an aikido school. Hope you find what you're looking for!

    Hi Chris
They have a demo every year at Japan Fest. They are under Sugawara sensei. This is the link to their public page. I have heard that Sugawara sensei is an excellent teacher of both Aikido and TSKSR so I would recommend visiting them at Japan fest and at their dojo. Hope this helps.

    Hi Nakmuayfarang
I dont know if you went back or joined them yet. (I just saw this response). Lotfi is one of the three Kyoshi at that Atlanta dojo. He has many years of experience in Shotokan Karate and Aikido apart from TSKSR. I would recommend training with them before making a final decision. As a senior martial arts exponent once told me...some training is better than none. The best way to judge if the training fits with one is to join and train. So go on and see if you like it. TSKSR is not for everyone.

Btw this is their website. www.atlantakatori.com

    Hope this helps
    Good Luck!
