    Default Koryu Hokkaido

    Hello,

one of my friends is moving to the south of Hokkaido. He´s looking for a koryu dojo focusing on sword arts. But for the beginning, everything is fine :-)

    Best,

    Whereabouts in Hokkaido?

I know of a few contacts if you could be more specific.

Sorry, I don't know of anyone there personally. I know of a few Koryu in Hakodate and Sapporo, but outside the bigger cities in Hokkaido, there's not rich pickings,I'm afraid.

    I did come across this:

    http://www.aiki.jp/nagao/contact.html

It's a group that teaches Ono ha and Daito Ryu in Tomakomai.

I have no idea of what they teach, lineage etc. but your friend mightn't have a great deal of choice unless he's willing to travel.

Those of us in the Genbukan are very familiar with Nagao Sensei, as he is a teacher of Tanemura Soke. He is the Soke of Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu Yamamoto-ha, and also of Mugen Shinto Ryu Iaijutsu.

    Thanks for the information!
My friend will contact Nagao-sensei when he will be in Japan.

Thank you very much for your help!
