Seasonal topic: What Shorinjikempo actually is all about
I've finally figured out the true meaning of Shorinjikempo: chocolate.
Whether it's the beginning of the training ("Seiritsu!" "Choco!") or the beginning of the philosophy ("Kyakka choco"), everything revolves around this sweet goodness – and it should, IMHO!
Every straight movement, like the basic straight punch with a chocolate bar (choco tsuki) is clearly named for this happymaker, as well as a part of the fist itself (guess which).
Finally this should make every conspiracy theoretician weep in happiness: SHOrinjiKempO (yep, in German chocolate starts with an 's': Schokolade ^^). I'm starting to wonder what the "sho" in "shodan" and "shomen" is short for now and whether "sokuto" might be a slight misspelling …
Anyone else note anything I've forgotten to mention?
Merry Christmas,
