Very sad news that Kodansha International is to close. Kodansha have published many wonderful books on the martial arts in the English language.

A Japanese publishing company that produces English language titles, including some about martial arts. It is a subsidiary of one of Japan's largets publishers, Kodansha.

I'll think of a proper sig when I get a minute...

For now, I'm just waiting for the smack of the Bo against a hard wooden floor....

How on earth were you unable to deduce from my post and the link itself that Kodansha was a publisher?

That is unfortunate. I have many of their English-language titles, including books on Japanese gardening and architecture, which have enhanced both my appreciation for and knowledge of Japanese culture and aesthetics. Their books have even helped me in my gardening profession.

It's a shame that we will no longer have access to new books from them, but apparently the global economic situation has made that division unprofitable.

I was waiting a better explanation... Here in Brazil I've never hear about this publisher, because this I asked a better explanation.

Are you already heard about good manners? It's very important to good budo's practitioners

Thank you a lot!!! This is a very distant reality from here, Brazil... We don't have access to foreigners books, unless if we buy books on amazon.com. Because this I was curious who was this publisher...

    Thank you for your patient.
