Default Need help identifying this item

Can not for the life of me remember what this item is called. I used it to carry and oil cloth for my sword, I think they were used by Samurai to carry medicine or valuables. Can anyone help me?

I wanted to sell it on ebay but I can't do that without knowing what to call it.

THANKS IN ADVANCE for any help.

I am not a specialist in antique items but I know that "sagemono" is the general term for containers hung by cords to the obi.

An "inro" (印籠, いんろう, inrō ) is such a small item used as seal case or pill box (medicine case) and was indeed carried by hanging on the obi.

However I am sure that with little effort you can find lots of information on the internet on these and other antique Japanese items.
