That's what happens when pulling the trigger fast becomes more important than presenting the gun on target fast. OUCH

Yep - that little thing about keeping your finger off the trigger gets ya every time!
Jeff Cooper's rule #3 and the golden rule of gun safety: Keep your finger off the trigger untill your sights are on the target. Even my 9 year old son knows and practices this. What an idiot!
I teach 3 rules that are probably universal to my Firearms students.
1) gun pointed in safe direction.
2 finger off trigger until ready to shoot
3)) unloaded untill ready to shoot,,
I add this one also
4) never point a gun at your instructor
A little tonge in cheek but all rules overlap to protect you.

BTW, Gabe Saurez of "Saurez international" teaches that in a high stress combat environment, a skilled people could keep his finger on the trigger to save a milisecond.

By "skilled" you mean someone who gets away with it without shooting themselves or others and unskilled means the gun went boom when it wasn't suppose to. Mr. Suarez's logic flies in the face of fact, research, common sense and firearms safety. Please don't try it at home folks.

Take everything Gabe Suarez says with a shaker of salt. If he was on E-Budo it would be in Bad Budo: loony comments (noted above, his previous comments on citizen response to active shooter, his goofy posts about running around in the desert with a knife in his teeth and "Look Out, Hadji!" and more!
To resurrect this old thread; he posted a follow-up video:
