    Observe and consider:

    Why so many traditions that had founders/practitioners with a base in Sumo - or that fought sumotori in open matches - might have some pretty effective fighting skills

    And why folks may wonder where those skills went when those traditions stopped doing sumo.

    The use of Judo in Sumo is frowned on. It is considered cheating. Which is a little ironic considering that professional Sumo is as fixed as Pro Wrestling.
