    Default New book: "Encyclopedia of Japanese Martial Arts"

    Hey everyone,

    Just a heads up Dr. David Hall and Kodansha have a new book coming out called, "Encyclopedia of Japanese Martial Arts." It should be out in Oct. You should be able to find it on Amazon.com. It will be packed with useful budo terminology, kanji, photos, etc. I think it will be a must have for any budoka!

    Default New Koryu Encyclopedia

    Hello all,

    Dave Hall's new Encyclopedia of Japanese Martial Arts has now been published by Kodansha. My copy reached me on Friday, and you can see my review on amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Encyclopedia-J...l+encyclopedia).

    The short version: this is a fantastic book, with lots of information from the Bugei Ryuha Daijiten and other Japanese sources made available in English. It has detailed information on several famous (and quite a few obscure) koryu as well as more general information about Japanese martial culture. I highly recommend it as a reference source.
