Default Need opinion on Authenticity/Style/Price of 2 Swords

These belonged to my father and I am not sure of their authenticity or value.

I also wondered if anyone could tell me the name or maker of these swords.

    Thanks in advance.

    Thumbs down Sword authenticity

It is certainly a sword, David, but also definitely not a Nihonto (Japanese sword). Probably a Chinese shinken ("live" sharp blade) - there are tens of thousands of them floating around.

The Kanji on the first blade read: "Proudly machine-made in PRC".

Sorry, but this one was just too good to pass up...
