I read an SF novel (but cannot remember the title) decades ago about a massive spaceship flying nowhere for hundreds of years; the crew had broken into warring factions and isolated loners. There was a good bit about the fighting, mostly spring powered pistols with poison darts and throwing knives, or close in with blades, and how the better fighters compensated for different levels of gravity (the ship spun to provide gravity at the outer levels), timing their throws and jumps. That actually sounds pretty cool, and a bit reminiscent of Ender's Game. The latter is actually cited by tactical trainer Sid Heal as a primer for outside-the-box thinking.

Dirk realised after raising this thread that he had already raised a thread for the article ages ago. Here is the first thread. I guess the Mods could close this one now.

I'll think of a proper sig when I get a minute...

For now, I'm just waiting for the smack of the Bo against a hard wooden floor....
