    Default Kyoketsu Shoge

    Hello all,

I am new to the forum. I have watched for a long while. You all seem to be very good people. I want to know, is anyone interested in Kyoketsu Shoge blanks? They can be used for practice or sharpened as wanted. The 1st one I made back in 82'-83 was round stock based off of my teacher that was a very young intern in a WW2 camp that had learned from his father. I can not give you history or a pedigree, just can put out a poll.
These are stainless steel blanks of 1/8". The ring is 4.5" x 1/2" W X 1/8" stainless. Options can be added. As they are custom, sizes may vary. The ring shown is 1/4". I recently went back to my birth place and dug through old Budo and found my original.

The pictures starting at the bottom are:

    8.5" with paracord handle
    10.5" with black twine handle
    13.5" raw

You can ad your own cordage. Some like chain, some do not. Same goes for the handle wrap. I can pretty much make any size you want. They have to be "blank" in order to sell through PayPal.

Let me know if you are interested.

    Thanks.

I am also open to suggestions. I plan on posting finished pieces, but time is certainly a luxury at this point. They do polish up nice and sharpen well with some work. The reason for offering these is lack of any quality at other places. The black one with the chain that is commercially available is crap. Fine for show or some practice, but breaks easily as it is only pot metal welded onto a hollow tube. Mine are full tang.

Feedback is appreciated. If you are going to be negative, please post a suggestion instead of a flame. That is more constructive. It is also something I can work with.

    Thanks,

    Scott Hubbell

Top knife is twine wrapped and then "rubberized", the bottom is paracord. All can be "rubberized" if requested.
