    Default Koshi

I was watching a number of videos on youtube of various demonstrations for mid-level ranks, and I saw a notable lack of good koshi in the techniques. I'm sort of obsessed with developing good koshi right now, so that prompted me to write this

How do you work to develop koshi? If you don't why, not?

My koshi used to be very good, but a bit of osteoporosis mixed with age has taken its toll on me. Also, I had total knee replacement 6 years ago and now my legs are straighter than they were all my life before. It took me some time to feel my way just to talk, but to do any kind of kata was like beginning all over again. Maybe it is time to really practice good koshi to help with all the other pains of getting old.

My koshi used to be great! I was a judoka who also played football, among other things. A while back I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and one leg is almost useless. I try some tai chi to help with it. My kata generally sucks but I work on getting it right. There are some moves I just can't do. Such is life.
